Inspired by Maori art

Ever since travelling around Australia, many moons ago, I have been fascinated as well as inspired by indigenous art. In my doodles this admiration often comes through as I use elements of indigenous art, I have come across in my travels and while living in New Zealand. The vertical bamboo piece I was working on yesterday contains a Koru, which means “loop” in Maori (New Zealand indigenous people). The shape mimics  an unfurling silver fern frond and symbolizes new life, growth, strength and peace.

If you’re interested in my bamboo plant art or would like me to transform your garden/balcony/roof-terras/wall  into a cosy green oasis, have a look here or send an email to daanpino@gmail.com. You can call me as well on (0031) 6 34 95 68 73
